Don't miss this year's UK convergence. Get a preview of a packed weekend of workshops, skill sharing, entertainment, great food and networking.

Experience permaculture hands on, with other people who are using it in their everyday lives. We have all taken inspiration from ethics and principles, read enchanting articles, and studied the ins and outs of various titles. The real moments of inspiration and creativity come from when we converge with like-minded people.

This year's UK Permaculture Convergence takes place 12-14th September. It will be held in the forests of North-East London (really), in the tranquil setting (really!) of Gilwell Park.

Authors, Looby Macnamara, Aranya, and Maddy Harland will join other practitioners, permaculture students, and curious minds at Convergence 2014. Looby Macnamara will launch her new book 7 Ways to Think Differently, Aranya presents a workshop on using your smartphone as a design tool, and Maddy will present Big Picture Permaculture - focussing on agriculture, energy, medicine and our belif systems - plus entice us with unusual trees for a forest garden in her second session.

The event will cater for a diverse range of interests, other workshop offers include rabbits in a permaculture system, Chris Evans' Permaculture in the Himalayas, and Graham Burnett's Vegan Permaculture.

The weekend offers you the opportunity to learn, make new friends and catch up with old ones round a fire, whilst camping the forest, or upgrade to a cosy dorm if you prefer. There is plenty happening around the edges, including the marketplace for something to take home, and there are kids activities to keep the little ones entertained.

This event truly is for everyone, coordinated by the Permaculture Association, you don't have to be a member to attend (although, members receive a £30 ticket discount). The whole weekend is from just £130 including delicious meals using ingredients grown by OrganicLea a mile away, and two evenings entertainment. The Friday night will bring Three Acres and a Cow with their enchanting A History of Land Rights and Protest in Folk Song and Story, leading into a Ceildh.

This is a top event in the permaculture calendar, tickets are on sale now at
