Transition Heathrow Needs You

Grow Heathrow, a project by Transition Heathrow, would love volunteers this summer to help with growing, fixing, planting and more. Why not spend a few peaceful weeks as part of a transition community!

Summer is finally here and it's been so nice at Grow Heathrow in the sun that we wanted to share it. So, from now on through the summer and beyond (well as long as we can hold the site), we will be happy to welcome volunteers who want to discover (just like us!) permaculture and organic food growing, alternative energy and off-grid living, by helping out with everything that needs doing here on site. Visit the website to find out more www.transitionheathrow.com/grow-heathrow

We are currently planting vegetables applying permaculture principles, working on building new structures to expand the site as well as many other creative initiatives. There are lots of jobs to get involved in from fixing the water system to planting out herbs, fixing punctures and building with clay, to washing up and lighting fires.

We welcome people staying for up to two weeks and would happily discuss longer stays in our meeting once you're here. The conditions are basic (but as it's the summer it is comfortable) but we do have a wood and solar powered shower to freshen yourselves up! We have a guest cabin for visitors but if you want a little more privacy we have space for tents.

If you are interested, please send an email to info[at]transitionheathrow.com explaining why you want to come, when and for how long and a bit on your experience if any. We would also really welcome people who feel that they might become longer termers to come and stay and have a chat about this. There's always room to Grow.....

Some suggested things to bring:
Sleeping bag
Torch
Swimming stuff (there's a beautiful lake nearby)
Tent (if you want)
Clothes you don't mind getting messy

Transition Heathrow is a grassroots action group, working to build resilient Heathrow communities, capable of collectively coping with the injustices and threats of the economic, ecological and democratic crises.
