A day exploring the origins of the Universe 13.8 billion years ago through to mankind's existence today. Am exciting opportunity to meet leading thinkers and doers!

The Universe Story is the story revealed by science, from the origins of the Universe 13.8 billion years ago, through the creation of the stars, planets, our planet Earth, the evolution of life and finally our human story on this Earth.

Throughout the day (Saturday 14th March 2015), this amazing story will be heard from various speakers, workshops and question times.

Our very own Maddy Harland will be explaining why our post-industrial growth culture has appropriated so many areas of our lives: our connection with food and the land, energy, medicine, and even our belief systems and why holding an interconnected worldview can totally change the way we see the world. It is the key to our ability to redesign society and she will share practical examples that support this. She calls this 'Transformational Heresy'.

Greg Mortar, who runs Universe Story weekend walks tracing the evolution of the Universe from the Big Bang to the present day, will be looking at a brief history of everything: from the origin of the Universe to the present day, in six surprising step.

Elisabet Sahtouris is an internationally known evolution biologist, futurist, author and speaker, US and Greek citizen living in Spain. She will be revealing The Evolution of Cooperation and Transformation. By showing us how our planet Earth is a self-regulating living system and part of an evolving Universe, Elisabet will give us insights that can help us steer through the rapid changes we are experiencing today.

Chris Clarke, Emeritus Professor of Applied Mathematics and author of "Weaving the Cosmos", will be guiding the day as Chair. This will be an extraordinary day!

Below is a video that resonates with Elisabet Sahttouris' talk on moving from competition to cooperation.

Helen Moore, the award winning ecopoet, will also recite some of her new poems from her latest collection, Ecozoa.

Come and learn how we can align ourselves with the evolutionary processes for the benefit of all humans, all living beings and the planet itself. And hear ways in which we can be empowered to ground the ideas in our everyday lives and to help bring into being the 'Ecozoic Era'.

The Universe Story takes place on Saturday 14th March at London's Barbican centre from 10am to 5pm. Standard tickets cost £43.05.
