'The Unselfish Spirit', by Mick Collins, is not only an award-winning book that is gaining popularity in the UK & US, but its profits are being donated to help feed children in Malawi. Now that's permaculture!

The Unselfish Spirit: Human Evolution in a Time of Global Crisis by Permanent Publications' (our sister company) author Mick Collins, is not only an award winner, it is a title that continues to attract a growing array of attention.

Over the coming week or so Mick will be interviewed for the UK’s Conscious TV (www.conscious.tv), by Ginger Gilmore and a programme called the Human Experience www.thehumanxp.com (a US based site with an audience of 2 million a year) next month.

Even more than this, Mick donates revenue from the profits to help feed children in Milawi. "I hope and pray that the book does well, as I have been sending all royalties to feed children in Africa - the more the book sells the more kids we can feed,” says Mick. "Milawi is in a very bad way right now with drought and crop failures. The crisis is well and truly here."

Tuesday 9th August 2016 was International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. The theme this year is the right to education.

Every day is indigenous day within the permaculture world. The best ideas come from ALL over the world, ALL people and cultures, with people finding the solutions they need themselves. What is for sure is that many people do need our support and that is why we at PM support projects around the world, just as Mick Collins does. We send magazine and books to projects that don't have access to currency, resources or people. (See the latest News & Events pages in PM89 - pg42 - for full details on how you can also support these projects.)

You can also help by using the 'Donate' button via the front page of this website (www.permaculture.co.uk - see the donate button on the top right hand corner). Even subscribing or buying a gift subscription is an active form of ‘donation’ and help.
