Singer, songwriter and activist Neil Young has been back in touch with Permaculture magazine to invite us on the European Leg of his worldwide tour. As with the American leg, we need two volunteers per show to run our Permaculture magazine stand at each of the Neil Young concerts’ News You Can Trust village and stands.
In exchange for your help you'll receive a free ticket to the concert, as long as you can get there for 3pm and stay until everyone has left. We will also post you a box of Permaculture magazine so as that you can give out free copies to those attending the show, and talk to them about permaculture if they ask.
If you can help on any of the dates above, please let us know by the close of Tuesday 24th May 2016, contacting Tony on tony[at]permaculture.co.uk
As well as classic, passionate music, the tour offers a look at various environmental and human issues, from climate change and social justice, to renewable energy and ocean conservation. One way this will be incorporated into the tour is through the Village – select tents or stands focussing on different issues. One of the tents will be 'News You Can Trust' and Permaculture magazine has been selected as one of the magazines to attend (others to be announced).
Importantly, Beyond GM is running the Ban GMO and Future of Farming tents at the concerts, so if you are at the shows did visit the Village/stalls. http://beyond-gm.org/beyond-gm-joins-neil-youngs-activist-village-in-the-ukeu/

This tour promotes both his current studio album, The Monsanto Years by Neil Young and the Promise of the Real, (we reviewed the album in PM85 … it is great, go get!) and his brand new live album Earth.
The Monsanto Years has a strong organic farming theme, with songs exploring global hunger, pesticides, GMOs, seeds and our Earth. You can buy the album from Pono. You can hear 'Rock Starbuck' from The Monsanto Years HERE.
His new environmentally conscious album, Earth, is a 13-track live album from the American leg of the tour with the outstanding Promise of the Real.
The songs come from The Monsanto Years and classics from his extensive back catalogue. Young also offers a twist, adding the sounds of insects and wild animals (birds, primates, whale cries, dogs, bear growls and wind flowing), giving the music an audience representative of all life on the planet – at times the creatures actually take over the songs. This album is released in June and can be pre-ordered here: www.neilyoung.com/earth/?ref=https://www.google.co.uk/
