Build Your Own Home for less than $3,500 (about £2,300)

In a time where house prices are too high, and land is unaffordable, American Janine Alexander has built her own home on wheels as the solution. 

By using unwanted recycled items and a 1950s DIY book, Janine has created a mobile house for less than $3,500 / £2,300. In her town, house prices can be over half a million dollars, so to build a home for this much is amazing.

Living in a compact home helps to lower your carbon footprint and prevents you from compiling too much stuff that you don't really need. It is also an amazing feeling to build your own home.

Janine's home is small, but it has everything she needs whilst still looking cosy and comfortable.
