This new short film by John D. Liu looks at how reforestation and sustaianable farming practices can protect and enhance drylands all over the world to lock carbon up in the soil, slow down climate change, build fertility and alleviate poverty. Here are numerous of communities who have already either conserved or restored their degraded lands into an ecologically function systems that preserve the hydrological cycle, prevent erosion, accumulate biomass, sequester carbon, protect endangered species.
This is the way forward. This is what we have to do all over our planet. This is also how to look after people and communities and create jobs.
