The world is slowly waking up to the unsustainable nature of the Fashion Industry.
With the collapse of an eight storey building killing over 1,100 clothing factory workers and injuring another 2,500 in Savar, Bangladesh and several other factories catching on fire killing and injuring hundreds, action needs to be taken.
The clothing industry needs to work for those buying the clothes but also those making them.
This groundbreaking documentary, The True Cost, explores this industry and its impacts. From the brightest runways to the darkest slums, The True Cost opens the curtain to the ever decreasing clothing prices and the ever increasing environmental and human destruction.
With interviews from Stella McCartney, Livia Firth, Lucy Siegle and Vandana Shiva, this is a film that needs to be seen by everyone.
"The True Cost is a standout documentary from Andrew Morgan,” Lucy Siegle told Permaculture magazine. "The more you watch him unravel the supply chain for today's fashion industry the more you ask yourself how it can be that in 2013 we saw the three worst disasters in the history of the global fashion industry. In that year over 1,500 people died sewing clothes for Western brands. This should not be a dangerous job. True Cost makes an urgent and compelling case for change."
The film will be screened across the globe on 26th May 2015. Visit http://truecostmovie.com/screenings/ to find out your nearest screening.
