It was stimulating, informative, fun and friendly day. We just about sold out of everything we brought. It was great to be able to share the discounts and get to speak to so many of you.

IF YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PERMACULTURE and are capable of working independently on a co-design project we want you! Send us your proposal [email protected]
Dateline: 15th August 2022
Danyadara is a permaculture project based in Cadiz - Spain. We aim to reverse the impacts of desertification in the south of Spain. For the last six years, Danyadara has been active in many areas of land regeneration including organic food production, tree planting, soil regeneration, and building a Mediterranean forest.
We are looking for people that want to apply their previously acquired knowledge and help us achieve our goal. Mainly we look for people that could help us on topics such as water retention, soil quality, and eco-construction.
We ask for a commitment of at least 6 months so you can adapt your project to our specific reality and give us the opportunity to integrate you into a community of committed people working to implement sustainable living practices. You are expected to work on your project and help with farm activities equally (aprox. 30 hours in total per week).
In exchange, we offer delicious vegetarian food, beautiful accommodation in an eco-house, yoga classes (outside of your working hours), and a profound experience for self-reflection and exploration.
Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of working experience in the above-mentioned fields, a letter of recommendation, a motivation letter, and a project proposal indicating step-by-step how would you implement the project including the materials, timeline, and other resources you may need (max. 3 pages). As a non-profit organisation, we have limited resources. To make your project feasible you need to consider low maintenance, minimal expense, and long-lasting solutions.

DONATE. Your generosity continues to allow Permaculture magazine to support people and communities around the world. Donations mean that together we can supply subscriptions and key books to permaculture projects without access to currency: www.permaculture.co.uk/donate
Permaculture magazine is receiving more and more requests for acknowledgement and support. Requests come from those being impacted today by climate change and those living in refugee camps who want to help their children learn, adapt and live more resilient lives. These donations allow us to reach these people who are making real differences within their communities.
The World Forest Organisations’ thank you letter here is an example of the positive impact we can make to people such as Eva Jefa in Kenya.
Permaculture magazine also seeks to pair up projects with expert mentors and volunteers (keep an eye on the Classified and News pages for these requests).
Donate today and we can get key texts to projects in time for their academic years. We always welcome large contributions, but even the smallest contribution you can make will go a long way. 100% of the money goes to supporting permaculture people and projects, wherever they may be.

We do have trees - several mangoes, sweetsop, soursop, some citrus-mostly lemons, tamarind and guava. We can provide housing and hopefully we can grow enough food to eat. CHALLENGES FACING SOMILILAND FARMERS. Can you help? For the past year, farmers in Somaliland have faced: COVID which has left many families devastated. Three waves of Desert Locust have consumed literally ALL green foliage that sustain their camels, sheep, goats and cattle. The rains were late and when they did come it was for a very short duration. Consequently the people are facing famine. They have a dream of having a water pan/pond for harvesting and storing storm waters. Currently, because the ground is bare without vegetation, the waters flow undisturbed to the Red Sea. They need financial help, USD$35,020, to create a pond which can store 6 million litres of water - enough to last from one rainy season to the next.
1).    Installation of Geomembrane 2,604m2 @ USD$5 per m2 = USD$13,020
2).    Excavation and construction = USD$15,000
3).    Consultant = USD$5,000
4).    Fencing to protect people and livestock = USD$2,000
If you can immediately help please contact Dr. Ahmed Yousuf Idiris at Barako Permaculture Training Centre. Email: [email protected] or Skype ID:ahmedcolombus
